Marion Elizabeth "Chickie" WENTWORTH

Obituary Condolences

WENTWORTH, Marion Elizabeth "Chickie"

Our beloved matriarch, died on April 16, 2014. She was preceded in death by her son Gary Robert Wentworth and George Edwin Wentworth the patriarch of the early Boca Raton Wentworth family. Chickie was born and raised in Billerica, Massachusetts before marrying and moving to Boca Raton, Fl in the mid 50's to raise her family. Chickie was actively involved in community affairs ranging from being president of the Boca Raton Little league to a Red Cross swimming instructor. She never met a person she didn't like, never uttered a bad word about anyone and somehow always saw the good in people. She loved life and she loved people. She owned and operated a nightclub in town for many years that bore her name. She is survived by her brother Bill, 3 remaining children George, Greg and Gayle as well as 4 grandchildren Cory, Hunter, Kellen and Kaila. Chickie was truly a saint and will be missed by all who knew her. Services will be held Saturday April 26, 2014 at the Glick Family Funeral Home located at 3600 N Federal Hwy in Boca Raton from 4 until 6PM. There also will be a celebration of her life following the services at The Sonoma House located at 220 NE 11th Street in Boca Raton. Throughout her life she campaigned for many different charitable causes but there was one that had an extra special meaning. The family asks that in lieu of flowers that any contributions be made to the National Headquarters of the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation located at 6520 N Andrews Avenue in Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309-2130 (1-800-225-6495) or log onto Glick Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
