BOWMAN, Pleaz L.

Pleaz L. Bowman, 94, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, formerly of Hickory, NC, and Rabun Gap, GA, went to be with the Lord and his heavenly family on Monday, August 4, 2014. He was born on August 16, 1919, to Earl and Espie Bowman in Alexander County, NC. Mr. Bowman built many custom homes in Northern Palm Beach County. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. During World War II, he served six years in the Marine Corps, rising to the rank of Staff Sergeant, serving in five major battles in the Pacific Theatre. He was an ordnanceman with a fighter bomber squadron of the First Marine Air Wing. Mr. Bowman was predeceased by two brothers, six sisters, and his grandson, Shane Bowman. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Agnes M. Bowman; children, Janice Verity (Ray), Mike Bowman (Sharon), Richard Bowman (Mickey), Rita Schubert (Jim); sister, Novella Teague of Taylorsville, NC; as well as 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren who were his pride and joy. He was loved and will be missed by a large extended family. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 7 from 11:30AM to 12:30PM, with a service following at 12:30PM, at Aycock-Riverside Funeral and Cremation Center, 1112 Military Trail, Jupiter, FL 33458.
