Obituary Condolences

Family-Placed Obituary

LAWRENCE K. HARRIGAN "Larry" Lawrence "Larry" K. Harrigan, 66, passed away on January 23, 2010. His final days were spent at home surrounded by his loving family after a valiant fight against lung cancer. Larry was born July 18, 1943 to Larry P. and Liz Harrigan. He served in the U.S. Army as First Lieutenant in Vietnam during the war and then became a Special Agent with the F.B.I. Larry's service with the Bureau was a source of great pride for him and his family and remained so through his retirement after 29 years. Larry met his best friend and love of his life, JoAnn Snyder in Ft. Lauderdale in 1969. The two soon married and embarked on a long and exciting journey together full of adventure, laughter and purpose. They had a beautifully close marriage and were seldom seen away from the other's side. Larry was also a dedicated father to his two children, always going out of his way to help, coach and guide them whenever possible. An extraordinarily engaged father, he never missed any of his children's games, scout meetings or other events. He continued this wonderful presence through the lives of his grandchildren. After retirement, he turned his life-long hobby as a master woodworker into a successful second career - one that he used to take JoAnn on cruises around the world. He is survived by his devoted wife of 40 years, JoAnn; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Marc Anderson; son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Letty Harrigan; grandchildren, Skyla, Brock and Keely; mother, Liz Harrigan; brother, Ted Harrigan; sister, Lisa Lee and many other family members and friends touched by his strong spirit. Strong, decisive, kind and loving - Larry was a true larger than life figure. A memorial gathering will be held 3:00 - 4:00 PM with a service beginning at 4:00 PM Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at Palms West Funeral Home, 110 Business Park Way, Royal Palm Beach, FL 33414.
