ROSANNE O'BRIEN DALY Rosanne O'Brien Daly, 78, of Palm Beach, FL went to be with the Lord on August 12, 2010 while vacationing in Vancouver, Canada. Born December 22, 1931 in Buffalo, NY to the well-known surgeon, Dr. Thomas J. O'Brien and Helen R. O'Brien, also of Palm Beach. Missing her greatly is the love of her life and her devoted husband of 53 years, Dr. Joseph J. Daly and her children: Molly Daly Schmeiser of Leonardtown, MD, Maureen Daly Martin, of Boynton Beach, FL, Joseph Gerard Daly of Allison Park, PA, and Dr. Brien Patrick Daly of Weston, MA. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren and her sister, Molly O'Brien Criqui of Essex Fells, NJ. She was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas J. O'Brien of Buffalo, NY. The scion of an Oklahoma pioneering family, Rosanne was born and raised in Buffalo, she summered in Crescent Beach, Canada, and for over forty years lived in Lockport, NY. Rosanne was very active athletically throughout her life. Whether it was learning to play golf at age 7 with her father at Cherry Hill Country Club in Ontario, skiing with college friends or playing tennis, Rosanne enjoyed spirited competition with all of her friends and family. Rosanne was a graduate of Holy Angels Academy in Buffalo, Stephens College in Columbia Missouri, and the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Medical Record Librarians. She worked at the Buffalo General Hospital and the Emergency Hospital in Buffalo, NY. She served for many years at the Kenan Center in Lockport and volunteered for Catholic Charities where she chaired the Women's Division for 21 years. Rosanne was also active in the American Cancer Society, the Buffalo Philharmonic, and the Lockport Memorial Hospital Guild. She also was a past member of the Junior Service League, the Lockport Town and Country Club, The Tuscarora Club, Cherry Hill Country Club, the St Edward's Roman Catholic Church Women's Guild, the Society of the Four Arts, and the Palm Beach Governor's Club. Rosanne was a parishioner of St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church in Lockport, NY for 43 years, Past President of the DeSales High School Parents Guild, Oblate Provincial Medical Award winner for DeSales High School, and a member of the Y.W.C.A, Art Park, and the Amherst Tennis Club. Rosanne was very involved in the community and was noted for her contagious laugh and ability to make others feel at home. Our hearts are broken as she was deeply loved by all and she will be greatly missed. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Edwards Roman Catholic Church, Palm Beach, FL on September 3, 2010 at 10:30 AM.
