JAMES WILLIAM HANSEN James William Hansen, 60 years old, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, died on Thursday, January 6, 2011 from complications following a lifelong battle with Juvenile Diabetes. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was a resident of the Palm Beach area since 1996 and worked as a Commercial Real Estate Broker. James enjoyed golf and gambling, but being a father and grandfather was the focus of his life. He is survived by four children, Tara Hansen and her finance James Gomez of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; Stacey ♥. Parsons and her husband Kirk of West Palm Beach, FL; James W. Hansen, Jr., and his wife Lucia of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; and Michael Hansen and his wife, Kristi also of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; a grandson, Aidan Parsons and one very soon to be granddaughter, Alexa Hansen; and the mother of his children, Sandra J. Hansen of Philadelphia, PA. Additional survivors include seven siblings, Anne J. Cannon, Elmer F. Hansen, Jr., Harriett O'Connor, Mary Jane Houck-Finn, Robert T. Hansen, Thomas Hansen, and Dennis Hansen. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Quattlebaum Funeral Home, 1201 South Olive Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33401 with Rev. Aidan Lacy, officiating. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of Service. The Interment will follow at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Cemetery, Royal Palm Beach, FL. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mr. Hansen's memory to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International, 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York, NY 10004 www.jdrf.org.
