MARY MARGARET EDENS 1931 - 2012 Mary Margaret Edens of Wellington and formerly of Belle Glade passed away peacefully at home in the arms of her husband and three daughters on Monday, April 2, 2012. Born on January 17, 1931 in Mobile, AL. Mary was a beloved Wife, Mother, Grandma, Great Grandma and Aunt. She was preceded in death by her much loved grandmother, "Mama Dean", her mother, Ruby Dean Maloy; her step-father, Arlie Columbus "Red" Maloy and her brother, Alver Maloy. Mary married Robert Lawrence Edens on February 3, 1950 in Belle Glade, FL. She was the co-owner of Edens Construction from 1956 until March of 2000. For ten years she was condominium manager for Strandview Tower Condominiums on Fort Myers Beach where they owned an apartment and spent long weekends and extended stays. In her younger years Mary enjoyed bowling, golf, ceramics, playing bridge with friends (Marie Battle, Francis Fussell, Jo Aspey, Thelma Norris, Wylene Lockhart and many other dear friends) and working in her yard alongside her husband. Wherever lively music was heard Mary could be seen dancing. In more recent years Mary enjoyed being at home with her husband, family gatherings and her friends at Duffy's. Mary will be remembered for her endless energy, her love of life and her devotion to family. Survivors include her devoted husband of 62 years, Robert Edens; three daughters, Brenda Tyson (Benton), Pamela McAllister and Tracy Basore (fiancé, Steve Royal). Mary is also survived by seven grandchildren, Brandie Holt, Jeremy Crawford (Annie), Jessica Peterson (Darrell), Josh Crawford (Stephanie), Tobin Basore, Robert Basore and Zachary Royal along with seven great-grandsons, Trey and Tyler Holt, Mason Crawford, Aiden and Blake Peterson and Kanner and Jackson Crawford. In addition her special aunt, Florence Dean Baker, who was more like a sister than an aunt and many nieces and nephews. Visitation and services will be held on Friday, April 6, 2012 at 9:00 AM at Palms West Funeral Home located at 110 Business Park Way, Royal Palm Beach. Burial will follow at South Florida VA National Cemetery, 6501 SR 7, Lake Worth. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude and appreciation to Hospice of Palm Beach County for their remarkable professionalism, care and love shown to our Loved One and the entire family. We would also like to say a big thank you to our special friends at Senior Helpers.
