The Guest Book is expired.
Muriel B. "Mimi" Cotton died peacefully March 27, 2013, in Palm Beach aged 96 years. Though a full time resident of Palm Beach for many years she was born in Brooklyn and was fiercely proud of her native New York. Her life's work was the struggle for world peace and social justice. She was in the front lines of progressive causes from the Spanish Civil War through the efforts to insure Barack Obama's election in Florida. She was an early, active and vocal member of a myriad of organizations that together comprise a history of progressive America over the past 75 years. Her other passion was the theatre and her friends included numerous actors, writers, producers and directors. The daughter of Max Meyersohn and Sadie Weinberg, she was married to her late husband, Chester B. "Chet" Cotton for 65 years and was the sister of Eleanor Frankel and Rosalie Kaufman, beloved aunt of Richard Frankel and Kate Clark, Steven Frankel and Jill Grosbard and great aunt to Joshua Frankel and Eve Biddle, Jennie and Doug Frisbie, Clark Frankel and Elisabeth Frankel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice of Palm Beach, Freedom to Marry and the Actors Fund.
