Elizabeth Cameron Hammock, passed away June 30, 2013, at age 91, at E.T. York Haven Hospice in Gainesville, FL surrounded by her family. Elizabeth was born on July 31, 1921 in Gainesville, FL to the late John M. and Elizabeth Morgan Cameron. She lived in Gainesville for most of her life, before moving to McAlpin, FL to be with her daughter. Mrs. Hammock loved gardening and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Felton V. Hammock; sisters, Doris Mae Drawdy, and Lois Marie Cameron; brothers, Maxsey L. Cameron, Donald M. Cameron; niece, Elizabeth Ann Standridge and nephew, Tommy Cameron. Elizabeth is survived by daughter, Marie H. Whitaker (Gerald - deceased); sons, Mack V. (Dottie) Hammock and John T. (Sharon) Hammock; three grandchildren, Eric, Ryan and Michael. two great-grandchildren, Evan and Gavin; three nieces, Winnie Lee Neal, Nunnie Mae Robinett and Nancy Cameron; four nephews, Ralph Cameron, Jimmy Cameron, George W. Drawdy, Jr., and Richard Cameron. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, July 5, 2013 at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Downtown, 404 North Main Street, Gainesville, FL. Interment will follow in New Hope Cemetery, LaCrosse, FL. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the services, beginning at 1:00 PM. The family would like to thank all of the staff at Haven Hospice for the wonderful care, and would like to ask that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Haven Hospice, 4200 NW 90th Blvd., Gainesville, FL 32606.
