Jerry Richard Lohmann, 73, passed away from a sudden heart attack while refereeing a high school football game in Boca Raton, FL Friday night August 23, 2013. He was born on April 29, 1940 in Cedarburg, WI. He moved to Florida when he was 18 and graduated from Stetson University, where he was a member of the tennis team, with a degree in accounting in 1963. An avid volunteer in the community and family man, he was preceded in death by his wife Shari Lohmann in 2008 and his parents Ralph and Olive Lohmann. He is survived by his loving children and their families including his oldest son Brian (Angee) and their children Brianna, 19, Lizzee, 17, Rett, 12 and Hana, 8 of Belle Glade, FL; daughter Paige Hundley (John Scott) and their children Brilee, 18, Jacq, 15 and Jade, 8 of Wellington, FL; and son Lee (Raychelle) and their children Cole, 13 and Ambria, 8 of Bluffton, SC. He is also survived by his brother Peter (Chris) Lohmann of Ocala, FL, his sister Chris Becker (Jim) of Weston, MA, and sister Sue Lohmann of Kissimmee, FL. A professional CPA, Lohmann owned and operated Jerry Lohmann, CPA in Belle Glade with over 50 years experience in providing professional accounting services. Besides his family, he loved his community. He served as an Auxiliary policeman with the City of Belle Glade for 20 years, volunteered with the Belle Glade Little League and youth football programs for over 30 years and served as a high school referee and umpire for over 15 years. He was a member of the East Coast Football Officials Association and the East Coast Umpires Association. A celebration of his life will be held at the Glades Day School gymnasium at 6:00 PM Wednesday August 28, 2013 followed by a bereavement dinner in Tripp Hall hosted by the Lohmann family and friends. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made in memory of Jerry Lohmann to Glades Day School, 400 Gator Blvd., Belle Glade, FL 33430 (561) 996-6769.
