Grandma Dorothy Paltrow was a very sweet and gracious woman. She looked young beyond her years in 2012. I had the honor to open and hold the door(s) for her at her residence in Palm Beach, Florida. I worked at her condo for a year and during that time I had little talks with Dorothy and I noticed Gwyenth looks remarkably like her grandmother with her pronounced cheekbones and bright eyes. I wrote a poem about Dorothy in 2012 entitled: "Hugged Grandma Dorothy"
Standing Outside with Dorothy Paltrow on a warm sunny day
she is smiling and chatting she looks young for her age.
Her CNA was there, we all laughed and talked away.
Then I told them I don't work here anymore
they were both sad, for they liked my smile-
they enjoyed my company while I was there for a while.
I helped them with the carts and also held their door.
They would miss my small chats with them they adored.
So then when it was time to say goodbye
I first gave a hug to Dorothy's CNA
then Dorothy looked at me to say
'Can I have a hug also my dear? '
I replied 'Of course' and hugged her in her chair.
Looking again at them both I said 'Goodbye'
before I turned with a tear in my eye.

Dear Bobby and Fran,
We are very sad to hear that "Aunt Dottie" has passed away. We believe that
she was the last of the old crowd of our parent's friends while we grew up in GN.
Your Mom was a special person. We have only fond memories of her. It was a
shame that in their twilight years, circumstances and misunderstandings created a rift between such good, old friends. We all know these things happen, but we are still sad that people like the Paltrows and Eastons, who were
really like family, drifted apart. We
wish you and your families peace and comfort at this time. We think of you, Mom, Dad, Bruce and Randi often. We still have many photos, our Mom saved, of the Paltrow and Easton clans together. Some really great laughs.
