Joan REED Obituary

REED, Joan Lazer

Joan Lazer Reed, age 78, left us on Saturday, January 3, 2015. After a successful career as a radio/theater/movie child actress in the 40'-50's, she became a mother and homemaker. She then helped raise her first granddaughter Daphna for a few years in California, before returning to the east coast to pursue her Master's Degree in Psychology, (after surviving her children's and their friends 1960's youth!). She was a free spirit in her middle age, living in Woodstock, NY close to her brother Pete and good friends. She came to live with her daughter in the mid 90's and let her love of people and animals blossom. She was caregiver tor her elderly cousin, her daughter's best friend's mother, as well as ALL stray cats. Her ex-husband moved back east to live with her and her daughter for several years. She finally succumbed to a seven year battle with cancer, defying death, "running against the wind...". She is survived by her son Peter, daughter Barbara, grandchildren Daphna, Eliana, David and Carver and great-grandchildren Logan, Lily, and Joshua. She will be forever missed, loved, and joyously remembered.

Re: Joan Lazer was in The Undercover Man in 1949. This is a film noir starring Glenn Ford.

I am a published author (3 books all on Amazon) planning to write a book about child actors.

I'm sure Miss Lazer (Reed) was a lovely person. Wishing you fond memories.

Best,

Robert
