MARVIN LEROY GILBERTSON Born: March 1, 1928 New Richland, Minnesota Died: February 22, 2015 Yankee Hill, California Marvin "Gil" Gilbertson passed away at home on the morning of February 22nd, 2015. He spent the day previous, happy and fun filled at home where his grandchildren paid him a surprise visit, they played cards, watched the sunset and enjoyed dinner together. At sunrise, surrounded by family in a house filled with love Papa Gil was called home. Raised in Watertown, South Dakota, Gil, as he preferred to be called, grew up during the Great Depression, which spawned his dreams of a better life, a desire to go where the action was, a longing for a family of his own and a burning desire to be a success in business and life. Gil spent time In Kansas, Texas, California, Japan, and Denver, where he met his bride Patricia. Together they ventured to California to start their family and business pursuits. Gil and Pat spent time in the City of Orange, Garberville, and Yankee Hill. Gil is survived by his loving wife and partner in all - Patricia, their children and spouses - Scott and Irene, Kurt and Kim, Robert and Donna and Carol and Jim Bengson. Grand Children Heather and Joel Check, Erik, Matthew and Kyle Gilbertson, Kelsea, Kenny and Bailey Bengson. Gil's love of the Lord was shared in all he did as he enjoyed his many endeavors in life along with his greatest joys being his family, home, business and many friends. PAUL GOODWIN Paul H. Goodwin, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 in Paradise, CA. He is survived by his wife, Maxine Goodwin, two sons, David Goodwin and Darrell Goodwin (Barb), two granddaughters and one great-granddaughter. Greslie, Donald R. - Las Vegas  
DONALD R. GRESLIE Donald R. Greslie ("Don) died February 14, 2015 in Paradise, California at age 90. He was born October 11, 1924 to immigrant parents from Norway in Los Angeles, Calif.. He was preceded in death by parents Albert and Hilda Greslie, siblings Arthur, Evelyn, Hazel, and Margaret. He was also preceded in death by first wife Alice Evelyn Murray, second wife Inez Stokes, and son Steven Greslie. He is survived by his wife, Frances, children Donna Mattson (Gerald), David Greslie (Carla), and Jill Greslie. He is also survived by his grandchildren Gail, Derek, Dawn, Brian, Donald Jay, Steven, Dylan, Yarrow, Niclaus, and Sean, and 13 great grandchildren. Don was raised in Burbank, Calif., and graduated from Herbert Hoover HS where he was active in sports, especially gymnastics. He served in the U.S. Navy 1942-1946 and was a radioman on air missions in the Pacific Theatre. After leaving the Navy he became a flooring installer and later owned his own flooring installation businesses in Torrance and later in Paradise, Calif. He enjoyed many activities during his life. When living in southern Calif. he would regularly take his famly to Manahattan Beach where he played beach volleyball and body surfed. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, water skiing, camping, and travelled extensively. He always loved gardening and his home on Dogwood Lane, Paradise, was showcased several times by the local garden club. In his later years, he and his wife, Frances, shared many hours gardening and sitting in the garden on Mallan Lane, Paradise, admiring the fruits of their labor. To his family and friends he was "bigger than life" due to his generosity, kindness, energy, and his love of life. A graveside service will be at Glen Oaks Memorial Park, Chico, Febrary 25, 2014, 10:00 am. Afterwards a reception will be hosted by family at 654 Dogwood Lane, Paradise. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Migraine Research Foundation.
