Dorothy Jane Anderson(1932 - 2013)

Dorothy "Jane" Anderson (Grammy) 80, of Paradise passed away May 16, 2013. She was born September 2, 1932, a daughter of Bruno and Winnie Holso in Lead, South Dakota where she grew up. She spent much of her childhood with her family on the farm in Roubaix, South Dakota. Her maternal and paternal grandparents were migrants from Finland. She graduated from Lead High School in 1950. Jane married her love, Dale E Anderson, January 3, 1951 in Lead, South Dakota. Their first child, Regina was born and then they moved to Wyoming. Their second child, Marjorie was born in Laramie while her husband attended the University of Wyoming. Dale's first job as a pharmacist was in Billings, Montana where their third child, Brian was born. She and her family moved to southern California for a short time before their final location in Paradise where their fourth child Linda was born. They owned and operated Skyway Drugs for 25 years while raising their family.

Throughout her life in Paradise, Jane was active in the community. She helped with Sunday school classes at the CMA church, worked in the attendance office at Paradise High School, and she belonged to various groups and community clubs. Jane was always family oriented. She helped raise her younger sister, Liz, after their mother passed away early in life. Starting her family and raising her own four children made her life full. She also enjoyed her five grand children and six great grand children along with many nieces and nephews. She loved nature, music, crafts, and took great pride in decorating her home; filling it with beautiful flowers.
Jane was a woman of God and taught her children and grand children about God's love. She never allowed life's heartaches to deter her faith as she was strong, tough and fearless. She was always available to lend a shoulder to lean on and made everyone feel blessed. She had a fighters heart, but kind and gentle soul. She was loving, compassionate and selfless beyond measure.
