EMILY LOU HIXSON Mar. 6, 1923 - Mar. 18, 2014 (Mrs.) Emily Lou Hixson, resident of Paradise for sixteen years died March 18. Mrs. Hixson moved here with her husband Ray, to be near their daughter Ruth, and her husband Charlie Rollo. Emily was born in Portland, Oregon, attended public schools for the first three years. The remainder of the elementary school years and high school were spent in the Adventist school system. Upon graduation Emily was employed as a bookkeeper. Emily, and Ray met in a city-wide youth meeting. Ray invited her to play miniature golf. It was love at first sight for Ray and they were married December 29, 1942. They just celebrated their 72 years and almost 3 months of wedded bliss. Emily not only served as Homemaker as she helped rear their son and daughter, but worked as Secretary to an Elementary School Principal, church treasure, and office manager. Emily, just celebrated her 91st birthday after years of service to her church, the Seventh Day Adventist, and her family. Emily will be laid to rest in a graveside service followed by a memorial service Saturday April 5, in the Paradise SDA Church. Emily is survived by her husband, Ray, daughter Ruth, and her husband Charlie, a son Ron and his wife Linda, and five grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.
