Gayla Sue Stormer passed away peacefully at home on October 10, 2013, surrounded by her family, following a prolonged battle with cancer. She has gone to rest with her Heavenly Father.
Gayla was born in Klamath Falls, Oregon on December 2, 1949 to William and Madge Chilcote. She lived briefly in Eugene, Oregon before moving to Southern California with her family in 1955. She was educated in Torrance, California and then attended college at San Diego State University where she majored in Economics. She was a member of the SDSU chapter of Alpha Phi sorority.
After graduation, Gayla worked for Arthur Young and Co. while obtaining her CPA. She eventually became a dedicated financial officer for Stratham Homes in Irvine for over 25 years.
Gayla was a gifted pianist whose love of the piano began when she was five. She loved to entertain while playing the music of classical composers, most notably Beethoven's sonatas.
She is a member of P.E.O. Chapter KT in Paradise, California. Her mother, Madge Ebright, is also a member of the chapter.
Gayla is survived by her beloved husband of 29 years, Thomas Stormer and her dearly loved son, Scott Stormer. Her sister, Jerri and brother-in-law, Gary, reside in Huntington Beach, California. Her step-brothers, Mitch and Jeff Ebright and their families, live in Southern CA as well.
Gayla will be laid to rest at the Paradise Cemetery on Elliott Road in Paradise. Funeral plans are to be announced at a later date.
