With family by his side, Warren H. Papeman died in Sacramento, California on February 1, 2012 after a brief illness. He was 90 years old.
Warren was born in Pearl River, New York on February 28, 1921 to Oscar and Gertrude Papeman. He studied chemical engineering at the University of New Hampshire and worked for Shell Oil Company for 38 years.
In 1945 Warren married Carol Althea Lattin of Portis, Kansas. In 1959, the family moved to Concord, California, which they called home for over 40 years. Five years after the death of his wife in 1995, Warren moved to Paradise, California to live with his daughter Susan and her husband Clifford.
In 2009 Warren moved to Oak Knoll Senior Living in Paradise where he leaves behind many wonderful friends and a staff that liked him very much. He enjoyed reading, taking morning walks to the duck pond and spending time with his family, who visited frequently. In his younger years, Warren was a fine woodworker and craftsman who enjoyed working with his hands.
Warren is survived by his children, Jeffrey of Elk Grove, Cynde and husband Steven of San Francisco, and Philip of Chico; a grandson Brian and his family in Elk Grove; and son-in-law Clifford of Paradise. He is preceded in death by his wife Carol, daughter Susan, and his sister and brothers. At his request, no public services will be held.
Warren was a kind and gentle man, with a warm smile and charming sense of humor. He will be remembered fondly and often. May he rest in peace. Arrangements under the direction of the Neptune Society of No CA, Chico Branch.
