Bert Allen Obituary

Bert Lee Roy Allen passed away March 21, 2013. Bert was born in Enid, Oklahoma to Claude Allen and Justine Allen on August 26, 1930. He graduated from high school in Oakland, CA. and served in the Korean War 1952 – 1954. He resided in the San Francisco Bay Area, until retiring in 1992, to Magalia where he lived for 12 years, and Paradise, where he lived for the past 8 years.
Bert worked as an automotive electrician for Gillig Bros. in Hayward, CA. and lead of the maintenance dept. at McKessons in San Leandro, CA prior to retirement. He enjoyed wood working, but mostly, spending time with his family. He volunteered at Help 4 People in Paradise for the past 19 years.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sharon and four daughters, Geri Allen of Newark, CA., Diana Roe of Pleasant Hill, CA., Richelle Guzman of Tracy, CA, and Kasey Graham of Discovery Bay, CA. Twelve grandchildren, Marianne, Ashley, Melissa, Matthew, Amanda, Jaclyn, Zachary, Austin, Emily, Molly, Gabby, and Brooke, two great grandsons, Emmett and Oliver, and sister Lois Wright of Bremerton, Washington.
Memorial service will be held on April 12, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at Craig Memorial Congregational Church, 5665 Scottwood Road, Paradise CA. In lieu of flowers Memorial contributions can be made to Craig Memorial Congregational Church.
