Edwina "Eddie" Keene Ivarson, 94, long-time Paradise, CA resident passed away on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at a care facility in Paradise.
Edwina was born in York, Montana on September 27, 1918 to Ruth and Newton Keene.
She was a graduate of
with a bachelor degree in education. Eddie volunteered her time with Camp Fire Girls and Boy Scouts for twenty-five years. She then taught high school physical education for seventeen years at Paradise High School.
Eddie was a very gifted creative person enjoying sewing, rug making, floral arrangements and propagating ornamental plants. She was also a collector of fine antiques and a great cook and mother!
Survivors include son, Graham "Craig" Ivarson of Paradise; two daughters, Kristi Rowell of Indiana and Maren Booth of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren, Jody, Faye, Matt, Terra, Katie, Nikki and Chris; three sisters, Winona Thomas of Monrovia, CA, Hope Downing of Phelan, CA and Frances Gary of Marietta, GA.
Cremation will take place and Eddie will be laid to rest next to her mother in Pomona, CA.
Memorial donations in Eddie's name may be made to Paradise High School Athletics, in care of Affordable Mortuary who are handling the arrangements. You may send condolences online at
