John Addington was a proud husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother. He was born June 22, 1949 in Oroville, California. John passed away suddenly on February 24, 2013. He was a graduate of Oroville High School, Class of 1967. From there, John served in the Navy as a submariner during the Vietnam War. After his time in the Navy, John was employed by the California Department of Water Resources for over 30 years. After retiring, John helped manage his son's business, J. Lee Roy's in Oroville, CA. He enjoyed motorcycles, woodworking, and spending quality time with everyone he loved.
John will be terribly missed by his wife Barbara, his mother Anna, his children Brian (Georgia) and Amy, Bob (Tara), Sonya (Chris), and Jim (Lisa). His grandchildren Hunter, Clayton, Jarett, Angus, Hayden, Grayson, and his favorite granddaughter, Grace. His siblings, Lynda and Pamela, also his nieces and nephews. Every single day, John spent his time supporting others through their lives. He was a friend of Bill W. for 24 years.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 1:00pm at the Paradise Ridge Senior Center. J. LeeRoy's will be providing a barbecue.
