Brian James Burket passed away on Wednesday May 2, 2012. Brian was born in Toledo, Ohio to James Burket and Carol Selter. After moving to California as a young child, Brian spent the next 35 years of his life raising hell in the San Francisco Bay Area. From San Ramon, CA to Oakland, CA, Brian and his friends enjoyed the fast life and every day with Brian was one full of adventure and unpredictable outcomes. Brian joined the Navy as a Corpsman in 1986 which began his future career as a Licensed Vocation Nurse. After ten successful years working in an E.R. as an LVN he moved to Paradise, CA in the year 2000. He moved to Paradise to help take care of his aging parents and enjoy the small town life. Brian enjoyed taking care of people and began working in long term care facilities where he made many friends and acquired some amazing stories. Brian took great pride in helping people stay comfortable and happy as they made the transition from this life to the next.
Brian could charm the pants, or panties, off of anyone with his dazzling blue eyes and his charismatic personality. He was quick witted with an amazing sense of humor. It was hard to be in a room with Brian without a smile on your face. He is survived by his two children, Tanya Burket and Daniel Burket, sister Brenda Montero, brother Brett Burket, and loving wife Deborah Taboada who he used to jokingly say "We've been married 30 years, the last 15 of them happily."
Brian will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A memorial is being planned for the month of July. Those who would like to attend and share their stories should look for Daniel Burket or Tanya Burket on Facebook. If you don't have a Facebook ask a friend who does.
