Dorothy Jane Anderson Obituary
Dorothy "Jane" Anderson (Grammy) 80, of Paradise passed away May 16, 2013. She was born September 2, 1932, a daughter of Bruno and Winnie Holso in Lead, South Dakota where she grew up. She spent much of her childhood with her family on the farm in Roubaix, South Dakota. Her maternal and paternal grandparents were migrants from Finland. She graduated from Lead High School in 1950. Jane married her love, Dale E Anderson, January 3, 1951 in Lead, South Dakota. Their first child, Regina was born and then they moved to Wyoming. Their second child, Marjorie was born in Laramie while her husband attended the University of Wyoming. Dale's first job as a pharmacist was in Billings, Montana where their third child, Brian was born. She and her family moved to southern California for a short time before their final location in Paradise where their fourth child Linda was born. They owned and operated Skyway Drugs for 25 years while raising their family.
The couple grew prominent in the community and made numerous friends while owning their business, Skyway Drug, later called Dale's Drug. Throughout her life in Paradise, Jane was active in the community. She helped with Sunday school classes at the CMA church, worked in the attendance office at Paradise High School, and she belonged to various groups and community clubs. In 1987 Jane was president of the Agenda Club.
Jane was always family oriented. She helped raise her younger sister, Liz, after their mother passed away early in life. Starting her family and raising her own four children made her life full. She also enjoyed her five grand children and six great grand children along with many nieces and nephews. She loved nature, music, crafts, and took great pride in decorating her home; filling it with beautiful flowers.
Jane was a woman of God and taught her children and grand children about God's love. She never allowed life's heartaches to deter her faith as she was strong, tough and fearless. She was always available to lend a shoulder to lean on and made everyone feel blessed. She had a fighters heart, but kind and gentle soul. She was loving, compassionate and selfless beyond measure. Jane was so gifted in the way she made every occasion a special event and a memory to never be forgotten.
Survivors are her only sister Elizabeth Mae Watts of Byron Wyoming, her son, Brian Keith Anderson and wife Kathie of Billings, Montana, her daughter Linda Louse Hendrix of Paradise, California, her grand children, Brian Roy, Cassandra Mae, Leah Jane, Christine Marylee and Nathan Lloyd and wife Tiffany, her great grand children, McKayla, Cody, Adin, Audrina, Whitney, Jaxen, nieces, nephews, and her very dear friend Nan Johnson of Paradise, California. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dale E. Anderson in 2002, her two elder daughters, Regina Marie Anderson in 1971 and Marjorie Rose Anderson Lee in 2004.
Because of the very special person she was, she touched hearts of many and will be missed deeply by all of those that loved her. Rose Chapel in Paradise is in charge of arrangements. A private interment is being held.
