He had been suffering from congestive heart failure. He lived in Paradise for fifty years and graduated from Paradise High School. Greg served in the Army during the Viet Nam War and was wounded by "friendly fire." In his later life, Greg was interested in buying, selling, trading and collecting guns.
He also enjoyed restoring a wide variety of antiques. He worked and lived in Paradise all of his adult life and recently went to stay with his sister, Janet Gageby in Fernley, NV.
He is survived by his sister, Janet, his brother-in-law, Jack. two nephews, Anthony William and Quentin Richard Stella, and many cousins, (the Woolard clan). But most importantly he is survived by many great and dear friends, some of them known as his "sisters and brothers from another mother."
He will be sorely missed for his generosity, quirky sense of humor and his love for friends and family.
Greg's ashes will be interred at the Federal Military Cemetery in Fernley, NV on Friday, July 12th
at 11:00 am. for anyone wishing to attend. After the service there will be a celebration lunch and
sharing of stories at Janet's house in Fernley, NV. Please call for directions (775-835-6901).
