Kenneth Gerald Skersick passed away peacefully of natural causes on Sunday, October 7, 2012 in Dana Point, California. He lived a very full life for 98 years.

Ken was born on April 11, 1914 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was a resident of Paradise for nearly fifty years following his retirement from the Los Angeles City Fire Department in 1961. He then worked for the State of California as a Deputy State Fire Marshal until 1980. Everyone who knew Ken knew his real passion in life was music. He was the Choir Director for his church, Our Savior Lutheran Church in Paradise. He was a active member and the Concertmaster for the Paradise Symphony Orchestra for nearly 40 years until 2002. He shared his love of music with scores of area residents as a violin teacher for more than 40 years. A room in his home in Paradise became a music studio for many others to learn to also love music.
