Lorraine Kathryn Revell, 90, passed away peacefully from a stroke on August 29, 2013, in Paradise, California. She had been a California resident in Paradise for 29 years and prior to that, in Anaheim for 44 years.
Lorraine was born on September 12, 1922, in Genoa, Nebraska. She spent her entire life dedicated to her family, supporting her loving husband, Charles Revell, who passed away in 2008, and raising three grateful children, Richard, Carole and Karen, who loved her to her last day. In addition to successfully raising her family, she was very active throughout her life with many interesting occupations and hobbies. Early on she worked as a waitress, a riveter at Douglas Aircraft supporting the WWII effort, and then as a medical assistant, excelling in every occupation. Her active love and pursuit of fishing, camping, golf, card and board games, gardening and cooking round out her amazing list of accomplishments.
Her children, Richard Revell of Laguna Niguel, California, Carole Heacock of Sparks, Nevada and Karen Elaine Sanders of Magalia, California, as well as six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren survive her. Her brothers, Donald Redman of Anaheim, California, preceded her in 1967, and Dennis Redman of Corona, California, preceded her in 2003; while William Redman, 87, of Summit, New Jersey survives her, as well as many extended family members and friends throughout the country.
Lorraine will be remembered for her generous spirit, joyful and loving heart and unwavering dedication to her family. As the matriarch, she loved her family and always wanted the best for everyone. Her deeply held spiritual beliefs provided reassurance for herself and those closest to her throughout her life. Please remember her in your thoughts and prayers for a life well lived and for the legacy she left for all of us.
According to her wishes, her body was cremated and her ashes spread in the Rose Garden at the Skyway Memorial Park, 13686 Skyway in Magalia, California. At her request, there will be no memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that any donations be made in her memory to the Paradise Hospice House, 1289 Billie Road, Paradise, California 95969, 530-877-8755, www.frhosp.org/medical/hospice.php.
