MARVIN ELTON MILLER & IDA ADA MILLER Marvin Elton Miller passed away on May 9, 2014, he was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years Ida Ada Miller on June 4, 2012. Marvin was born in Colorado on December 16, 1920 and Ida was born in Nebraska on August 15, 1921. They were married on April 26, 1942, while he was serving as a Staff Sargent in the Army Air Corp. While back in Nebraska , Ida gave birth to twins, Charles and Patricia (who passed shortly after birth) and Sally. They eventually ended up in Temple City, CA. where they eventually added Rose Ann, Lillian and Michael to the family. Marvin worked his way up the ladder with United Parcel Service from belt boy to District Credit Manager. Ida started working for the Alhambra School District as a cafeteria worker and at retirement was the manager of the cafeteria for San Gabriel High School. They moved to Paradise Pines after retirement where they lived for the past 40 years. During their time in the Pines they helped form many groups, including the POA, Milly's Closet, the Elks, Sons of Italy and Beta Sigma Phi International. They were also very active with the camp group, bowling club and golf club of the POA. Marvin was preceded in death by his brother Carroll and sister Evelyn. Ida was preceded in death by her brothers Romano, Elio and Albert and sister Alma and sister Catherine who passed away in 2013. They were also preceded in death by their daughter Rose Ann and son Michael. They are survived by daughters Sally Miller and Lillian Budge and daughter-in-law Cheryl Miller, six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Marvin will be interned next to Ida at the Veteran's Memorial, Glen Oaks Memorial cemetery, at his request there will be no services. In lieu of flowers you can donate in their name to your favorite organization. The family would like to express their appreciation for the wonderful care Dad received from the staff at Pine View Skilled Nursing Home.
