Lois Marjory Gobin passed away at Enloe Hospital in Chico on Wednesday, February 20, 2013. She was born on November 22, 1925 in Denver, CO to John William Dearchs and Minnie Betolla Matson.
After leaving Denver, she relocated to Glendale, CA before moving to Paradise with her daughter Margie and son Tom about 1955. Lois transferred to the Paradise Bank of America from where she retired in 1981 at the the same time her husband Ted retired from driving school bus. They spent the following years traveling in their RV including trips to Quartzite, Klamath River, and many other places to fulfill their love of rock collecting, fishing, hunting and just enjoying life, family and friends.
Lois joined the Paradise Gem and Mineral club where Ted was a charter member. On August 14, 1957 they joined their families together when they were married in Laramie, WY. Together they were part of the Paradise Historical Society, lifetime members of the Gold Nugget Museum and part of the Oregon-California Trail Association. Lois also belonged to the Quilt Society.
Lois was preceded in death by Ted, her husband of almost 50 years, daughter Margie Connolly, son Jim Gobin, daughter Sheila Gobin, grandson Robert Schulz, and great granddaughter Becky Ward.
She is survived by son Tom and wife Diane Connolly, daughter Sherrie and husband Stu Rosen, all of Paradise. She also left 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter to mourn her passing.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at Chapel of the Pines Funeral Home in Paradise.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gold Nugget Museum or Paradise Gem & Mineral Club.
