Vincent Melf, age 79 met his Savior on March 8th. Vince was born in Toledo, Ohio and graduated from high school in Birmingham, Alabama. After serving in the Air Force and Navy during the Korean Conflict, he attended the University of Miami. Vince met and married Carolyn in Miami in 1968, introducing her to the world of gardening at his croton nursery.

In the mid-1970's, they moved to Costa Rica where Vince was CFO for Gulf Oil, Latin America. Vince subsequently founded his own construction company-building houses and churches in San Jose, Costa Rica.
The Melf's returned to the US in 1976, settling in Paradise. Vince owned American Business Service and was partner in North Valley Financial Service. During his
retirement, Vincent enjoyed traveling with Carolyn, particularly their Alaskan cruises. Destination travel always included visits to nurseries and gardens. For two decades, the couple has welcomed visitors to their iris garden, "Iris Spring". Vincent is survived by his loving wife Carolyn, daughter Lori Cowart, and sons Michael
Melf and Larry Beeler and their families. Friends are invited to send their written memories and thoughts of Vince to Jubilee on the Ridge, 6280 Clark Road, Paradise.
