Elmer Leon Daniel
God called Elmer Leon Daniel home on Dec. 14, 2013. Leon was born and raised in Ft. Worth, Texas, graduating from Amon Carter Riverside High in 1957. He went on to the University of Texas where he received a B.S. degree in Petroleum Engineering. That degree took him to the oilfields of Midland, Texas; Tripoli, Libya; Lagos, Nigeria; Aberdeen, Scotland; and Bogota, Columbia. He eventually was promoted to Vice President of Engineering, Production and Construction for Occidental Oil in Bakersfield, Calif. That job kept him traveling around the world until he retired from Oxy in 1998. However, his retirement didn't last long. He failed at retirement twice, the second time when he formed Gente Oil with four of his ex-Oxy friends. Leon was an passionate fisherman, an avid golfer, and skier.
Leon is survived by his wife Ann; three children: Mike, Larissa and husband David, and Suzanne and husband Steven; and 5 grandchildren: Deysi, Lindsey, Kaitlyn, Daniel and Emma.

There will be a Memorial Service for Leon on Dec. 18, 2013, at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday evening at the Crosspoint Presbyterian Church located in the Christian Center, 1283 Deer Valley Dr., Park City. The funeral service will be held on December 21, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. at the Mount Olivet Cemetery and Funeral home, 2301 N. Sylvania Avenue in Ft. Worth, Texas. Another memorial service will be held in Bakersfield, Calif., at a time and location to be later determined.
