1941 - 2012
Barbara Ann Mancuso, was born 10 April 1941 in Queens, NY. She lost her battle with melanoma on 13 November, 2012. Barb retired from the New York Times as the Director of Rights and Permissions and shortly there after moved to the Park City, Utah, where she lived with her partner, Liz Jones.
Barb was an avid golfer and a terrific supporter of the Park City Women's Golf Association, serving as president of the league. She was vice chair of the Playing for Life Foundation and spent many years fund raising on behalf of Huntsman Cancer Institute and Image Reborn.
She is survived by her partner of 12 1/2 years, Liz Jones. Also, Barb's sister Carol Napier from Richmond, Virginia, her nephew Chris Mumford and his family and her nephew, the late, Keith Mumford's family. Also Liz's parents, Bud and Bernice Jones, brothers Stan, Craig and Doug, wives and their families. .
Her passing really was too soon. We will deeply miss Barb. She had a firecracker personality, tremendous wit, and was loved by so many. Her laughter was infectious. She will be in our hearts forever.
Please join Liz, family and friends at the Jeremy Golf and Country Club on Friday November 30th at 6pm, for a celebration of Barb's wonderful life. 8770 Jeremy Rd, Park City Utah.
Contributions in lieu of flowers can be made in Barb's name to Best Friends....www.bestfriends.org, or Paws for Life....pflu.org and the Playing for Life Foundation....theplayingforlifefoundation.org.
I cannot thank "our village" enough who helped Barb during her brave battle with melanoma....the cards, soup, visits, calls, emails, the sleep-overs, AND, of course, the brownies.
We regret to report that the Utah State Police will have to find a new source of revenue as they will not be able to fine Barb for speeding in her BMW anymore.
