Markle Sparks Obituary
Markle H. Sparks, retired Delta captain, passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2012. He was a long time resident of Park City where he moved after retiring. He loved this community and his mountains. He is survived by his children, Sidney of Conyers, Georgia, Steve, Salt Lake City, Sally of Snellville, Georgia. He left 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Markle was born in Enid, Oklahoma in 1915. He became an instructor during WWII. After the war, went to work for Western AirLines, living in the Los Angeles area. After retiring, he moved to Park City, which he considered home. He held many records and many adventures during his flying time.

Only yesterday did I hear of Markle's passing. I came to know Markle as his home care nurse after a hip replacement many years ago. I remember well sharing memories drinking coffee in his kitchen on snowy mornings in Park City. I also have great memories of introducing Markle to Rosemary Sweeney, then 93and 87. That was the summer of patio dinner parties with them sharingtheirlives with those of us that were yournger. Only last night did I have a thought that I had not heard from Markle in two months and said I would call him tomorrow. Such is life. My life was touched by Markle.

Sally and family, I was saddened to hear of the passing of Markle. All of us at Baja Cantina enjoyed his visits! He loved his cheese enchiladas!! May he rest in peace!
