Leland Roy Tatton, our beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather, passed away quietly on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family.
The Guest Book is expired.
Roy was born July 8, 1946 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Donald Fred and Betty Jane Tatton. Roy grew up in North Ogden, Utah where he graduated from Weber High School (Class of 1964). Roy served a mission for the LDS Church in the New Zealand South Mission. Upon returning from his mission, he married Kathy Creamer on August 16, 1968 in the Idaho Falls Temple.
Roy graduated from Weber College in Ogden, Utah with a degree in Manufacturing Engineering and served as a Military Intelligence Officer during the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge from the Army, he worked in the computer technology industry.
Roy and Kathy made Park City, Utah their home for nearly 25 years where Roy spent countless days skiing, hunting, fishing, and golfing with his family. Those were days to be remembered.
Prior to his retirement, Roy designed and built his dream home on 10 beautiful acres in Morgan, Utah. "Papa Roy" loved to give four wheeler and jeep rides, saddle up the horses at every opportunity, and give sleigh rides each winter behind his Percheron draft horse.
Roy was an active member of the LDS Church and served as Bishop of the Park City Second Ward and in the Stake Presidency of the Park City, Utah Stake - among many other callings. He especially enjoyed service missions with his wife where they served as tour guides at the Palmyra, New York church historical sites. He also enjoyed working with the youth and serving in the Scouting program.
He is survived by his wife Kathy, three siblings; brothers Craig and Ron Tatton and his sister Marta Havens, his eight children; Rory (Michelle) Tatton, Ryan (Racquel) Tatton, Kristin (Brent) Harman, Rhett (Andrea) Tatton, Randen (Antonia) Tatton, Rustin (Challise) Tatton, Royce (Lauren) Tatton, Kara (Aaron) Gold, and 24 grandchildren. His parents preceded him in death.
