Kenneth Glenn Uhlig, 63, passed away on November 7, 2012 of cancer. He was born in Houston, Texas on January 10, 1949. He graduated from Bellaire High School and then attended Business School. In 1969 he was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War where he served for two years. Nine months of those two years he spent serving in Korea. He worked for Diamond Shamrock Chem and Oxy Chem since 1973. He was employed there for 40 years until he took early retirement in February 2012. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Katherine Nanette Uhlig, Son; Michael Ray Uhlig, Daughter; Elizabeth Ann and her husband P.J. Ballard, Granddaughters; Kali Mason and Kaylee Alexis Branyan, and many relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his two infant brothers and his father. Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Grand View Funeral Home with Military Recognition where they also played Taps. Burial was at Grand View Memorial Park in the Garden of Prayer, in Pasadena, Texas. He will be greatly missed by his wife, son, daughter and his two granddaughters.
