Jack Smith Christy went Home to be with the Lord on January 18, 2013. He was 88 years old. Jack was born in Lake Village, Arkansas on November 30, 1924, to Charles and Robbie Hays Christy. He is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Rena, daughter, Virginia Christy Neal, grandson, Josiah Chrisman, and his brothers, Charles, Edwin, and Sam Christy.
Jack lived in Pasadena for 57 years. He retired from the City of Pasadena in 1989, and was known throughout the Pasadena and Houston areas as a no-nonsense umpire and referee of High School sports.
Jack is survived by a daughter, Kathryn, her husband David Chrisman, and their children: Jonathan and wife Kayla, Joshua, Elizabeth, and Joseph; a son, Jack W. Christy, and daughters Amanda and husband Alan Bell and children Tristan and Miranda, Ashley and husband Jason Graham and children Landon and Kayleigh, and Allison Christy, and son, Aaron Christy; and a son-in-law, Mark V. Neal and children Mark, Rebekah, Gregory, and James.
A memorial service honoring the life of Jack Christy was held on Thursday evening, January 24, 2013 at South Main Baptist Church, where Jack and Rena were faithful members.
