Joan R. Clark 1936-2012
Joan R. Clark (Hughes), 75, passed away at home in LaVerne, CA on June 3rd after suffering a massive stroke. She was born June 12, 1936 in White County, Il and was the daughter of John Hughes and Effie Renshaw. Joan graduated in 1954 from Carmi Township HS where she met and married Orvan Clark (deceased). Joan is survived by her children Tim Clark and Micci Rhodes, grandchildren Nathan and Kaytee Rhodes, as well as 3 siblings and 30 plus other family members in the Midwest. She was a 25 year member of CBC in Rancho Cucamonga, CA and over the years led many bible study groups and taught Sunday school most of her adult life. She wrote many short stories and also wrote a fictional book about her life growing up on the family farm titled "Mickie." We are so grateful to have had her in our lives for 75 years as she was unique and special to each of us who knew and loved her. A celebration of life service will be held Friday, June 22nd 2012 at 11:00 am at (CBC) 9090 19th Street, Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91701. Joan's ashes will be taken at a later date by her family to be spread at her childhood church, Walnut Grove Baptist Church in Brownsville, Illinois.
