Milton Robin Obituary

Milton Robin
Beloved father, passed away peacefully at 99 on Friday, November 1, 2013 in Yucaipa, California. A native of Brooklyn, Milt grew up in Los Angeles, where he was an extra in many of the early talking movies, including "The Jazz Singer." He served his country admirably in WWII, taking part in the Normandy Invasion, the Liberation of Paris, the Battle of the Bulge, the Rhine Campaign and the Liberation of the Dachau Concentration Camp. He moved to San Bernardino in 1951 and founded Security Loan & Jewelry- one of the city's first pawn shops-with his brother Art. The brothers operated the business for the next 43 years.
A common man who had an uncommon impact on everyone he met, Milt was a member of Congregation Emanu El, where he and his late wife, Dorothy, led the youth group. He also was a member of the Masons, Shrine, Elks, and Jewish War Veterans, and volunteered at the VA into his 90's.
Milt was preceded in death by wives Dorothy and Rose. He is survived his his loving son Brian, grandson Brandt and granddaughter Gillian. His charm, class and gentle influence on everyone he met will be missed, but never forgotten and always cherished.
Services for Milt will be held on Wednesday, November 13 at 11 a.m. at the Home of Peace Memorial Park, 4334 Whittier Blvd, Los Angeles, 90022 with reception to follow.

Milt you were and are an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing you. I got to know you in Indian Guides, but your example of service is a guide to many. Your military service brought this Nation peace. May you enjoy the same, having left full and grateful hearts behind to live their lives to the fullest in your memory.
