Dwight Marlowe Bastian
68, of Upland passed away on December 9, 2012 at Loma Linda University Hospital. He was born on October 31, 1944 in Portland, OR and lived in Upland for 37 years. Dwight was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He was a good samaritan and was cited by the L.A. County Sheriff's for bravery and honor. Dwight was a mentor to young people in his profession. He was a caring and compassionate to everyone he came in contact with. Dwight was a welder for 50 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy
during Vietnam. He enjoyed coin collecting, politics, cooking, gardening, fishing, reading, gambling in the casinos and playing with his grand- children.
He is survived by his wife, Madelena Bastian, son David Bastian, mother Marian Bastian, sisters Carol Montague, Judy Kendrick, Jane Fleenor, Laune Ragsdale, Donna Rash, Gail Vanderpool and grandchildren Tayelor and Blake Bastian. He was preceded in death by his sister Nancy Bastian and father James Bastian.
