CARLSBAD- Henry Gilbert Keith, 97, passed on to Everlasting Love on October 18, 2012 with his family by his side. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Ruthie; and his children, Dorothy Stevenson of Carlsbad, Bob Keith of San Diego, Mardi Johnson of Oceanside, Susan Edwards of Denver, and Nancy Mercer Keith Gerard of Savannah. He leaves his 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Henry proudly served his country in WWII, was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, and generously shared his heart with all those family and friends who loved him in return. Henry filled his days building model ships, birdhouses, growing orchids and epiphyllum, stamp and coin collecting, crossword puzzles and was an avid reader. Henry worked 30 years at Title Insurance and Trust Company of Riverside and Los Angeles where he traveled to Alaska Pipeline and was a "Sourdough" honoree. He served as Deacon at 1st Presbyterian Church, Redlands, where he raised his family for 12 years. He retired to Carlsbad where he and his wife have lived for 30 years. He will be honored in a Celebration of Life on Saturday, November 10th at 2pm at the First Presbyterian Church of Oceanside on Camino Real, reception following. His ashes will be laid to rest in Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery. Donations can be made to Elizabeth Hospice in Henry's name. We love you, Dad!
