MARTIN, Iris Tidey
Iris Tidey Martin, born March 6, 1932 in Manton, Michigan, on a rural farm where she lived until she went to college to become a teacher
. Left this world for the next on June 25, 2013, in Grand Terrace, California. She lived most of her life in Covina, California, where she was a loving mother to two sons and was a faithful wife for 55 years. She was an elementary school teacher for Covina-Valley Unified School District until 1991 when she retired. Since that time, she had been busy with many hobbies, including sewing, gardening and reading. She particularly enjoyed sewing dolls for her many grand nieces, grandchildren and acquaintances. She also established a scholarship for Workman Elementary School students.
She is survived by her faithful husband, John F. Martin of Grand Terrace, California; by sons Jay J. Martin of Grand Terrace and Yale E. Martin of Bentonville, Arkansas; and by her brother Kenneth N. Tidey of Manton. She had four grandchildren: Jared S. Martin of Grand Terrace; and Alexandra Martin, Faith Martin and Holly Martin of Bentonville.
She was a warm and generous person who will be missed by all who knew her.
