RILEY, James N.
James Riley, long-time South Pasadena resident and Pasadena businessman, died on Friday, January 18, 2013 at Huntington Hospital. He was 87. Jim was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy in 2007 and is survived by two sons Charles Clapp (Anne) and Donald Clapp (Kittie), four grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
A graduate of UC Berkeley, Jim worked for the California State Division of Architecture until it was disbanded and then went to work for Security Pacific Bank where he was a Vice President for facility engineering. He later founded James Riley and Associates Engineering Consultants which specialized in mechanical engineering building design and construction. Jim was an active member of ASHRAE where he held a number of leadership positions.
Jim was an avid golfer, fly fisherman and UCLA
fan. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, January 26th, 2013 at Cabot & Sons Funeral Home located at 27 Chestnut St. in Pasadena.
