Marilyn Narcowich, Peace Activist, passed away peacefully at her home in Altadena, on March 17, 2014, of natural
Marilyn was born in Wayne County, Indiana on February 13, 1924 and grauated fron Indiana University
with a degree in Physical Education. She taught school in Colorado and
Marilyn was an activist for peace, equal rights, and nuclear disarmament. She was actively involved with the integration of schools in the 1960's and in the Head Start program. She continued to protest throughout her life against the inequality of mankind. During her 80's, until such time as she could no longer physically participate, she was often seen with a poster in her hand protesting for peace in front of the Altadena Community Church, during the church's weekly Peace Vigil. She actively participated in the Altadena Community Church, Walk for Life, Meals on Wheels, American Friends Service Committee, Nuclear Age Peace Foundation, and Peace Action. .
Marilyn was proceeded in death by her husband, Dr. Paul Narcowich and her sister Eloise Hoecker. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy, her sons Joel, and Gary, grandsons, Alex, Derrick, Dylan, and Logan, great-grandsons, Patrick and Zachary, her brother Bob, and her sister Jean, and several nieces and a nephew.
Marilyns will be sorely missed. Her smile and love will remain in our hearts forever. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Peace Action.
