Mark Steven Gallaher died on Tuesday, August 6, 2013. He was 50 years old, and is survived by his son, Brandon, his father, Donald Ralph Gallaher, sister Kathleen Gallaher Loya (Felix Loya), sister Sheone Gallaher Huntzinger (Steve Huntzinger), and brother Scott Allen Gallaher (Paula Gallaher). His nieces and nephews included Laurel, Brett, Nathan, Hannah, Sarah, Jason, Joshua, and Rebecca. He is
preceded in death by his daughter, Ashley Hinson, his mother, Joycene, and his brother, Joel.
Mark was a fearless builder of computers, player of games, lover of comedy, loving dad. He was intense, loyal, and immensely funny. Mark was a gifted mimic, and would listen quietly, absorbing all that was around him, and then erupt with a funny observation or recounting of events. Mark had keen intelligence, was stubborn and willing to work hard, and cherished the time he spent with his children.
Mark worked for 25 years at the Los Angeles New Group. He was the Information Technology Supervisor, and worked on many projects including integration of newly acquired newspapers into the company's technology platform. Mark loved his job, and was always thinking about how to integrate, streamline, stabilize, and improve. He had long-lasting friendships with his colleagues, and valued them.
Mark died very suddenly, and his friends and family mourn his loss. A memorial gathering was held for family and friends. To contact family, please e-mail kgloya@mindspring.com.
