Stevens Wright

Stevens Wright passed away peacefully on March 18th. Born April 14, 1931 in Hollywood, California. Steve was a long time resident of Long Beach, attending Wilson High, Chouinard Art Institute and Cal State University, Long Beach. Steve was a commercial illustrator for his entire professional career. He also worked as a freelance graphic artist with the Designory, Inc., Nissan Motors and NFL. Among his many accomplishments, Steve designed the Buffalo Bills logo that the team has used on their helmets since 1974. Steve is survived by wife, Donna "Jere" Wright; children, Beverly Wright Woo (Gary), Shannon Wright Piva (Marc) and Steve Wright (Joy); stepdaughter, Kathleen Krueger and 7 grandchildren. Steve is preceded in death by parents Bill and Olga Wright; sister, Patricia Wright Streightiff; birth mother, Margaret Grace Watson Ward; and birth father, Lewis Hill Abernethy. One of his greatest gifts came after his 80th birthday when he met his biological cousins, Robert Dix Sr., Diane Dix Gilliland and Carol Abernethy Quinet.
