Virginia Jones Kane died peacefully in Long Beach on December 13, 2012, at the age of 92. She is survived by her children, Marilyn Jean Kane Stine of Grand Junction, Colorado, and Ronald Patrick Kane of Long Beach; and her granddaughters, Jennifer Jacqueline Kane of Colorado and Kirsten Ariane Kane of Irvine. She is also survived by her brother, Don Jones; her sister, Vera Gillespie, her son-in-law Michael McGoldrick; her sister-in-law, Peggy Noon, and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Virginia was predeceased by her husband, Harold Kane; her children, Susan Kane McGoldrick and James Kane; her brothers, Marshall Jones and Shirley Jones; and her sisters. Goldie Jones Stark, Gladys Jones King, and Geraldine Jones Swigart. Born in Long Beach on June 24, 1920, to Frank and Jennie Jones, Virginia graduated from Long Beach Poly High School and the Marinello School of Beauty. She truly enjoyed her career as a hair stylist at the Kenneth Kane Hair Salon in Bixby Knolls, where she worked for over thirty years. Virginia was a loving wife to Harold and a wonderful mother to her four children. An expert cook and an avid reader, she also enjoyed sewing and needlework as well as travel and gardening.
