Warren Ehlers

July 21, 1922 – November 29, 2012

Warren was born in Arlington, California July 21, 1922 and he was the middle son of Minnie and Martin Ehlers. Warren passed away November 29, 2012 surrounded by his family in Northridge, CA.

Warren proudly served his country during World War II in the U. S. Navy Sea Bees where he was initially stationed in Alaska and then in the Philippines. After the war he returned to San Diego State College where he met his wife Marilyn of 61 years.

Warren is survived by his wife and two sons, John and Bob, and their spouses, Paulette and Bobbie. He also leaves behind three
grandchildren, Matt, Jennifer and Nicole, and one step great granddaughter, Maclaine Morgan.

Warren taught elementary school for the LAUSD for 33 years. After retirement Warren and Marilyn spent many years traveling all over the United States and many foreign countries including trips to six of the seven continents. During the summer, they spent many week-ends and weeks at their mountain cabin. Warren was an avid fisherman who also enjoyed gardening, dancing and singing.

He will be buried at sea in a private ceremony. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Native Daughters of the Golden West Veterans Fund. Checks should be made payable to NDGWCFIC – Veterans Welfare, and mailed to:
