Elois Sasse, 81, beloved mother,
grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, entered into the glory of her eternal life on Sunday, March, 11, 2012, at her home in Temple City.
She was born in the town of Granite, in Greer County, OK. to Thomas B, and Ida A. (Jurney) Coalson on March 16, 1930. Her family moved to Southern California in 1932. She graduated high school from Banning High in Banning, CA. in 1947. Elois married the love of her life Gustav "Gus" Sasse on January 16, 1949 in San Gabriel, CA; they then began their married lives together in Baldwin Park, CA; in 1952 they moved to Temple City.
Elois was a homemaker until her children were raised; she then worked for many years as a secretary for local doctors in the Arcadia area. Eloise also worked at Arcadia Methodist and Huntington Memorial hospitals. She enjoyed sewing, dress making, and being with people. Elois loved gardening and tending to her plants and had a "green thumb." She especially loved spending time with her daughter Debbie. She will be greatly missed by all those fortunate to have known her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gus; one brother, Rex; two sisters: Eva and Donna; and sister-in-law, Lillian.
Left behind to treasure her in their memories are her children: David Sasse (Dee), Post Falls, ID, Steven Sasse (Suzy), Hesperia, CA. and Deborah Bannister of Temple City; grandchildren: Andy Sasse, Hayward, CA., Matthew (Jamie), Everett, WA., Nicole Sasse, Hesperia, Sean Bannister, Temple City and Ryan Bannister (Jayme), San Tan Valley, AZ.; great-grandchildren: Daniel, Taylor and Brendan; brother, Carl ; sister, Christina; and many other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 23, 2012 at Pierce Brothers Turner & Stevens Mortuary, 1136 E. Las Tunas Drive, San Gabriel, (626) 287-0595 Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Pierce Brothers Turner & Stevens Mortuary.
