ALEXANDER MELVIN ANSPACH JR.
Alexander Melvin Anspach Jr. of Upland, went to see his Lord and Savior on November 8, 2013, after a 18 year struggle with heart disease. He was 76.
Al was born March 12, 1937 in Buckroe Beach VA and spent his early childhood on a farm in Pennsylvania. In the early 1950's the family moved to Southern California where he graduated from Mark Kepple High, San Gabriel, CA.
After graduation, he started his 38 year career at General Dynamics, Pomona (Convair Div) as a Draftsman. He earned multiple promotions during his tenure and retired as an Engineering Administration Manager. In addition to GD, he worked part time as a Real Estate Agent, and briefly was part owner of a precision machine shop. Al loved all sports and anything outdoors. He frequently participated in softball, bowling and golf leagues throughout his life. He coached his son's little and pony league teams. His passion was fishing and he learned to tie expert flys. In his retirement he restored classic cars. He also had artistic talent drawing sketches and painting in watercolors. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Mary Ann and one sister Gladys Reaves. He is also survived by a son Timothy, daughter-in-law Pratthana and two grandchildren Korahl and Taylor. He is preceded by his son Christopher. Services will be held Friday November 15 at 10am at St. Anthonys Catholic Church in Upland. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Pomona Valley Ostomy Association P.O. Box 2094, Upland, CA 91785-2094 will be appreciated. Private internment.
