Barbara Elaine (Dexter) Calvin
89, passed away on February 26, 2014 at home, with her family. Barbara was born in San Bernardino on February 23, 1925 to Tom and Wilma Dexter. She was the fourth of five children, graduating from San Bernardino High School in 1942. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, David, and her daughter, Susan, as well as her two loving dogs, Jack and Slu.
Barbara was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in July 1951 and was an active Witness for 62 years. She was full of loving kindness, was also very humorous in her own way, such as never getting the names of movies right. For example, when she said let's watch Bob, we knew she meant the movie Dave.
Guests were never surprised when dinner was late or burned because Mom was always making sure everyone else was having a good time and sometimes forgot all about dinner. Our beloved Barbara will be deeply missed by my father and myself, those she thought of as children and grandchildren, and many dear friends and their families.
We look forward to the fulfillment of Revelation 21:4 when Mom will be young again and enjoying the Paradise here earth. That was her hope for 62 years and is now our comfort.
Per Moms wishes no services were to be arranged. In lieu of flowers please contriube to your local building fund or jw.org.
