Dorothy King Walters
February 27, 1925 – March 13, 2014

Passed peacefully from this life at the Alliance Nursing &
Rehabilitation Center in El Monte. She was 89 years old. She is survived by Charles J. Walters, her husband of 31 years. Dorothy was very active in her churches, serving as an elder, deacon, Sunday school teacher, youth leader and mentor, and as a leader in Presbyterian Women both in her congregation and the Presbytery of San Gabriel. She attended the First Presbyterian Church of El Monte for many years until it closed in 2005. She then attended Village Presbyterian Church in Arcadia where she continued to serve. She loved her church very much, always willing to help where she could. She was also very active in assisting young women in Hick's Camp, a colonia housing mostly immigrant agricultural workers in El Monte, for many years until it was closed in the 1970s. Dorothy's life will be celebrated in a Service of Witness to the Resurrection at Village Presbyterian Church, 2733 S. Tenth Ave., Arcadia at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 30.
