January 27, 1921-May 7, 2013
Elizabeth Bonacci (92) beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Baldwin Park. She was the beloved wife of Americo Bonacci (pre-deceased) and mother of Patrick Bonacci.
Besides her son, Patrick, Elizabeth leaves behind her brother, Paul, her daughter-in-law Claire, her granddaughters Tina Bonacci and Julie Bonacci Kolb. Her son-in-law Jayson Kolb and her great-grandsons Jayden and Jacob Kolb. Elizabeth also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews, including Patti Young, Ron Vidano, Maria Ashbaugh and Bonnie Gregonis, as well as numerous cousins and close friends.
Elizabeth Bonacci was born on January 27, 1921 in Morton, UT to Mary and Frank Vidano, immigrants from Turin, Italy. The youngest of the family, Elizabeth was also blessed with one brother, Paul. Elizabeth lived in the Morton and Helper area of UT through her school years and into her 20s where she met Americo Bonacci. Soon after Americo's discharge from his distinguished service during World War II, he and Elizabeth were married at Saint Anthony's Church in Helper, UT on February 16, 1947. Two years later they were graced with the birth of their son, Patrick on May 23, 1949. Work was hard to come by in the small towns of Utah so they decided to leave their family and friends and move to Los Angeles, CA with their three year old, Patrick. And, the Los Angeles area has been her home ever since.
Elizabeth worked hard for more than twenty years at Occidental Life Insurance and was active in her faith at Divine Saviour Parish in Los Angeles and St. Dominic Parish in Eagle Rock. Also, once retired, she was frequently President or Secretary of the Dominican Guild Association and the Highland Park Senior Club.
Among Elizabeth's interests were exploring LA via the bus, taking trips across the country on the train, cooking, reading and visiting with family and friends. Elizabeth's faith in God was the center of her life. Her love of family was steadfast and she carefully maintained a large circle of friends that were a mainstay of her daily life.
She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and confidant to many relatives and friends alike-and will be greatly missed.
