Obituary Condolences


Lost his battle to cancer February 14, 2014. Born January 26, 1927 in Dubuque, Iowa, he has been a resident of Woodland Hills, California since 1960. He served in the Navy during WWII, honorably discharged at the rank of Quartermaster. Gene worked in the Aerospace industry during the height of the space race on key projects for the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo programs. He retired as a Design Engineer from TRW, El Segundo. He was a gifted artist, who also taught oil painting. He leaves behind a legacy of beautiful paintings, glass and woodwork. He was a true renaissance man.

Gene is mourned by his beloved wife, Dorothy, of 54 years; his brother, Jaen; and his children, Judy (Lonnie), Wayne (Bonnie), Dennis (Judy). He also leaves 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, three great, great grandchildren and a large extended family. His daughter, Linda; and four of his siblings preceded him in death.

Private funeral services will be held at sea.
